The FortiAP 432FR is Fortinet's ruggedized outdoor/industrial Wi-Fi 6 access point, purpose-built for deployments in hazardous locations. It carries UL Class 1, Division 2 (C1D2) certification, meaning it operates safely in areas where flammable gases or vapors may be present intermittently — oil platforms, chemical plants, refineries, industrial manufacturing floors and transportation terminals. The IP67-sealed enclosure withstands dust ingress and water immersion, and the operating range of −40°C to 60°C covers the harshest outdoor environments.
Three radios cover 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz simultaneously at 4x4 MU-MIMO while the third radio runs 24/7 dual-band scanning for rogue APs and threats without interrupting client traffic. The 2.5 Gigabit multigigabit uplink handles the aggregate throughput of both client radios, and the second 1 GbE port provides 802.3af PoE-out to power a downstream device. Five swappable external N-Type antennas and a wall/pole mount kit ship in the box; an 802.3bt PoE injector is included so the unit arrives ready to deploy. It is managed by any FortiGate WLAN controller, FortiEdge Cloud or FortiSASE — the same unified console as every other Fortinet access point.

The 432FR ships with an 802.3bt PoE injector and a wall/pole mount kit. The GPI-145 is the recommended injector for multigig deployments. Optional N-Type replacement antennas (FANT-04ABGN-0606-O-N, -1414-P-N, -8065-P-N) require professional installer in FCC domains.
The FortiAP 432FR is a current-generation Wi-Fi 6 access point, actively sold and fully supported. It is not on an end-of-order or end-of-support schedule.
UL Class 1, Division 2 (C1D2) certifies that the access point can operate safely in locations where flammable gases, vapors, or liquids may be present under abnormal conditions — such as oil platforms, refineries, chemical plants and industrial manufacturing floors. The 432FR is designed for these hazardous locations as an intrinsically safe device.
The 432FR delivers up to 1,147 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and 2,402 Mbps on 5 GHz (approximately 3.5 Gbps aggregate) with 4×4 MU-MIMO across both client radios. A third 1×1 dual-band radio runs dedicated scanning for rogue APs and WIPS/WIDS around the clock.
The 432FR ships with an 802.3bt PoE injector for full 4×4 operation (25 W max without PoE-out, 37.9 W with PoE-out). It can also run on 802.3at PoE with reduced transmit power. The second Ethernet port provides 802.3af PoE-out to power a downstream camera or sensor.
Five swappable external N-Type dual-band antennas are included (5.5 dBi @ 2.4 GHz / 7.2 dBi @ 5 GHz). Optional professional-grade replacement antennas (FANT-04ABGN series) are available. Wall and pole mounting kits ship in the box.
