The FortiGate 1801F is Fortinet’s 2RU data-center next-generation firewall with onboard storage, built on the NP7 network processor and CP9 content processor. It is the FortiGate 1800F platform with 2x 960 GB NVMe SSD added for local logging and reporting. It delivers 15 Gbps of threat protection, 22 Gbps IPS throughput, 198 Gbps firewall throughput, and 12 million concurrent sessions (up to 40 million with a Hyperscale Firewall license) in a 2RU rack appliance — with four 100/40GE QSFP28 uplinks, twelve 25GE SFP28 slots, and sixteen GE RJ45 ports. Ideal for data-center edge and core deployments that need on-box logs without sending everything to FortiAnalyzer.

The 1801F is a 2RU rack appliance with four 100GE QSFP28 ports, twelve 25GE SFP28 slots, dual hot-swappable AC power and 2x 960 GB onboard SSD.
The FortiGate 1801F is a current-generation model, fully supported with active FortiGuard and FortiCare subscriptions available for 1, 3, and 5-year terms.
Performance is identical — both run on the same NP7 + CP9 platform. The FortiGate 1801F adds 2x 960 GB onboard NVMe SSD storage for local logging and reporting; the 1800F has no onboard storage. Choose the 1801F when you want on-box logs without a dedicated FortiAnalyzer.
The 1801F-DC is the same appliance with dual −48V to −60V DC power supplies instead of AC, for telco central offices and DC-powered racks. Performance, interfaces, onboard SSD, and FortiGuard licensing are identical.
The optional Hyperscale Firewall license unlocks additional NP7 acceleration, raising concurrent sessions from 12 million to 40 million and new sessions/second from 750,000 to 2 million. It is a perpetual license for carrier and hyperscale deployments that need maximum session scale.
The FortiGate 1801F uses Fortinet’s NP7 network processor for firewall and VPN acceleration, and the CP9 content processor for IPS, SSL inspection, and application control. Both ASICs are custom silicon designed by Fortinet.
